COURSE OVERVIEW

LET'S GET STARTED

This conference explores how culture, identity, environment, financial stress, physical experiences, and systemic barriers shape mental health outcomes in minority communities. Through evidence-informed sessions and practical strategies, participants will strengthen their ability to provide culturally responsive, equitable care and address factors affecting client well-being both inside and beyond the therapy room.

Identify cultural, systemic, and environmental factors influencing mental health outcomes and access to care among minority communities. 

EXAMINE

Examine how trauma, financial stress, and body-based responses influence clinical engagement and treatment experiences.  

APPLY

Apply culturally responsive strategies that support effective, ethical, and accessible mental health care.

Financial Stress & Minority Mental Health: Breaking Cycles, Building Stability  

  • Identify at least three ways financial stress uniquely impacts the mental and physical health of minority populations.    
  • Explain the connection between financial stress and common mental health outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and burnout within marginalized communities.  
  • Recognize signs of financial distress in clients and how it may present in clinical and community settings.
